Selin Varol is the founder of Kaptan`ın Ceviz Çiftliği, a family-owned, family-run farming business that grows local walnuts and produces gluten-free products.
After 13 years in the finance sector, as a Chartered Global Management Accountant certified by CIMA, living and breathing numbers, she realized that her work did not contribute to a happy and healthy way of life and that the industry was solely about making money. When she started thinking about the type of business she wanted to hand over to her daughter, Selin relocated to her hometown in Mugla, Turkey, and started her business with her family.
Kaptan`ın Ceviz Çiftliği aims to advance urban agriculture by helping their local community grow their own produce and developing these products in value-added healthy food series. Kaptan`ın Ceviz Çiftliği is not only a farming business trying to sell products but a healthy and socially conscious establishment trying to expand together with the local community. Some of the items Kaptan`ın Ceviz Çiftliği produces include: gluten-free and vegan quinoa chips, legumes pasta, and finely milled gluten-free flours.
