Dr. Giorgi Vekua serves as the Director of the Business and Regional Development Department at the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), where he leads initiatives in digital transformation and business development across Georgia. With two Master of Laws degrees from the University of Amsterdam alongside a Ph.D. in Social Sciences, Dr. Vekua combines expertise with a strategic vision for fostering economic growth.

Dr. Vekua has led several high-impact projects focused on women's economic empowerment, including the ongoing "Good Governance for Gender Equality in Georgia" project with UN Women and the innovative "Women Economic Empowerment through Digitalization" initiative funded by the Government of Canada. His portfolio also includes managing the EU 4BCC – Connecting Companies initiative, which strengthens trade and business connections between Georgian and European markets. Through partnerships with US, Czech, and Estonian embassies, he has developed successful programs focused on digital adoption and export capabilities.

As the author and lead instructor of the course AI for Business, Dr. Vekua equips entrepreneurs and SMEs with actionable tools to leverage artificial intelligence for efficiency and competitiveness. His work centers on bridging the gap between AI technology and practical business applications, empowering enterprises to thrive in a tech-driven economy.

Dr. Giorgi Vekua previously served as an Advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia, where he provided strategic guidance on national development projects. His career also encompasses diverse roles in Georgia’s private sector, including the oil and gas industry, television networks, and commercial arbitration, equipping him with broad industry expertise that enriches his current role.
